Why do you recommend I start out as a customer first?

I believe that spending your first 3 months with doTERRA as a customer is a vital first step in getting your business started.

Being a customer connects you to an experience; you build your own bank of success stories with the products and it gets you excited for more!

You find your passion because you have experienced a positive shift, whether it be emotional or physical.

You get behind doTERRA as a company and all that it stands for (vision, compassion, sourcing, ripple effect, etc).

You navigate your own self care, education and empowerment, priming you to be able to best serve your future community.

Finally, if the above hasn’t convinced you, with the realities of chronic illness and building a viable business, I believe you will likely want to do a large component of this online, as opposed to in-person workshops or meet ups. You need to be able to convey your passion in a way that connects to your online community, because they can’t physically be there with you to smell the oils and experience the benefits. It can absolutely be done if you love and believe in the product – which of course can only happen if you are using it yourself!

Network Marketing? Really?

Yup, absolutely!

In fact, this particular model, aka network marketing, could be exactly the solution you are looking for.

Does any other business or mainstream job give you the flexibility that you so desperately need AND the potential income?

Network marketing can be a barrier at first for people because there are a lot of people and companies that have given the network marketing model a yucky reputation.

I’ve certainly been sceptical and closed off to it in the past.

Then I realised that if you align with the right company – aka their values mirror yours, they have transparency, fabulous ethics, etc – AND they produce a product that you love – pure essential oils like nothing else you can find on the planet – old beliefs around network marketing can come crashing down.

Network marketing is simply a vehicle to get a product – in this case, essential oils – into the hands of the people who need it the most.

Where big corporates invest their marketing dollars into advertising, sponsorships, ambassadors and other marketing, doTERRA market through direct sales and word-of-mouth from their loyal customers.

Selling can be fun and purpose-driven, not pushy and awful, if we approach it in the right way.
